Client: Beechwood Developments Ltd
Services: Roof Tiling
Jones Homes has been producing beautiful private-sector homes for around 60 years, initially in the North West, now all over the country. It builds an average of 600 houses per year. The Greenhill Gate project at Penwortham near Preston in Lancashire comprised 28 houses: an upmarket mix of three- and four-bedroomed semi-detached and detached dwellings. The site nestles near the south bank of the River Ribble, offering a semi-rural location a short drive from the centre of busy Preston.
The nine-month project consisted of pitched roof tiling and low-level vertical tiling for 28 semi-detached and detached houses with garages, built to a high standard. Redland Ministonewolds tiles in Tudor brown and charcoal were used throughout. A show house had to be completed as a rush job; then, mid-project, the client wanted to bring some of the completions forward. Bracknell Roofing was able to comply with each request by increasing the number of tilers on site as required, up to eight at any one time, in co-operation with the other trades.
Bracknell Roofing’s reputation for exemplary work means that leading contractors are likely to direct enquiries to the company when new developments are in the offing. For Greenhill Gate, Jones Homes awarded the tiling contract to Bracknell Roofing. As so very often, the Bracknell team was entirely flexible, adapting to changes in schedules, coping with the winter weather, overcoming a national shortage of materials and delivering on time and to budget.
“This was the first project for Bracknell Roofing’s new Lancashire branch and the company’s first for developer Jones Homes. The client expressed delight with our workmanship and level of co-operation, so much so that they’ve awarded us a further contract.”
