At Bracknell Roofing, we’re fully committed to developing the skills and refining the expertise of our workforce – and every time one of our people reaches a training milestone, we like to recognise their achievements.
Roofer Paul Daulby from our Warrington branch is the latest success story, having recently completed his NVQ Level 2 in Slating and Tiling.
The joiner-turned-roofer completed his NVQ shortly before his 30th birthday. Paul said that the NVQ has given him more confidence and hands-on experience, particularly on more-complex roofs.
“The training was good because it went into detail about single-lap and double-lap tiles and other materials to cover valleys, hips and general areas,” he said. “I also learned the theoretical knowledge to go along with the practical techniques that I use on site every day.”
Paul, from Huyton in Liverpool, is pleased to have achieved his NVQ with Bracknell Roofing because of the variety of roofs he has worked on.
“Some of the roofs I’ve worked on during my NVQ have been very challenging – but this has been a great learning curve because it has given me the confidence to work on more-complex roofs,” he added. “I’m not sure I’d have got such broad experience anywhere else.”
Our Divisional Director Simon Smith is delighted that yet another roofer is fulfilling their potential at Bracknell Roofing.
“Being an experienced joiner has helped Paul enormously to develop a new set of skills as a roofer, and the fact that he’s enjoyed the challenges of more-complex roofs highlights that he has learned his craft well,” said Simon.
“It’s vital to the continued success of our business that we have our people developing their skills through qualifications, such as the NVQ Level 2 in Slating and Tiling.”
