Bracknell Roofing Wins NHBC Pride in the Job 2019 Award
We are delighted to announce that our Bracknell Roofing Yorkshire branch has won a celebrated National House Building Council (NHBC) “Pride in the Job 2019” award for one of our recent new build projects for builder and client, Jones Homes Yorkshire Limited!
The 39th NHBC Pride in the Job competition and awards recognises the remarkable contribution skilled Site Managers make in creating homes of the highest standard.
Ian Lockwood was the talented Site Manager on the Simpson Park site, which is located Off Blyth Road in Harworth, Nottingham. It was Ian’s seamless coordination and management of all aspects of the project that earnt him a prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award for the East Region.
Around 16,000 Site Managers were in the running for Quality Awards but only 450 made the cut, after being hand-picked for their excellent standards and practice on site.
Dale Yates, Contacts manager at Bracknell Roofing Yorkshire, explained how proud Bracknell was to assist Ian in delivering the highest standards and best practice across the site:
“This is a fantastic achievement for us as a company and a credit to all operatives involved.”
Dale, who is pictured receiving the company’s Pride in the Job award above, added:
“Ian Lockwood is an experienced Site Manager with exceptional organisation skills which has helped to run things smoothly and efficiently.”
Bracknell Roofing enjoyed carrying out Roof Tiling and Lead Work on various house types on behalf of Jones Homes Yorkshire Limited, in a project that began in February 2019.
Strategic Planning and Strong Communication
As this particular project involved a selection of house types, all with individual aspects, which made each house unique, the Bracknell team had to ensure that they were ordering the correct material for each individual plot. This meant that a high level of organisation from the Site Manager Ian and clear communication was key.
Dale was also keen to ensure that the same roofing operatives attended site each day and that these same operatives also lived locally to the Simpson Park site. This meant the project benefitted from consistency, efficiency and stronger relationships between different trades professionals working on the site.
Dale summed up the project’s success with: “Howard York [Bracknell Roofing Yorkshire Branch Manager] Ian Lockwood and I have developed a strong trusting relationship which has proven important in ensuring the correct materials are on site at the time works are ready to commence, avoiding delays. This gave operatives the time they need to achieve outstanding workmanship.”
Winning an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award is no small feat, so well done to Ian and to Dale, Howard and the rest of the team who helped contribute to the Simpson Park site and project success!
