Jessops Construction called upon the expertise of roofing contractor Bracknell for the conversion works of the derelict Magistrates Court house in Lewes, East Sussex into a new Premier Inn
The roofing works consisted of 1500m2 of Spanish slate for the main roof along with Marley Clay plain tiles for the vertical elements.
The building design is such that it incorporates a large curved roof on the front elevation therefore we had to ensure that each slate was hook fixed as per the manufacturers specification. When it came to the hips and ridges the Bracknell site team worked with Jessops to adapt the details thus ensuring a satisfactory end result.
When it came to the Single Ply flat roof elements of the building, we again worked with other trades to solve arising issues, especially in making the roof watertight around the many extractor units.
The finished result is a beautiful, new modern hotel facility to add to the Premier Inn portfolio.
