Safety in the Sun Campaign
This July, Bracknell Roofing is launching a Sun Safety Code to raise awareness of the risks associated with sun exposure and is encouraging site operatives to protect themselves this Summer.
The launch of the code follows reports which suggest that 70% of workers in construction have not had any official training on the risk associated with working in the sun. In addition to the code we are providing UV wristbands which change colour when worn in the sun to alert contractors when UV exposure reaches high levels.
This activity forms part of the Bracknell wider pledge to the Institue of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), "no time to lose" campaign.
The code will be delivered through a series of talks and newsletters encouraging our roofers to follow the Sun Safety Code.
By pledging to the No Time to Lose Campaign, as well as developing our own programme of sun safe activity, we are committed to raising awareness among roofing contractors of the dangers of Summer working and the simple steps that can be taken to minimise risks.
